Fargo Public Schools Development Foundation - Engaging the Community. Fostering Opportunity.

Fargo North High School has created a hybrid food pantry and free clothing room for students in need named the Open Door Program.

Open Door was created to provide students with basic necessities such as food, toiletry items, shoes, clothing and a helping hand. This program was started because there are students who are homeless, students whose families can't make ends meet and some students just needing a helping hand to get through a tough week or month.

Open Door is a confidential option. Any student can contact a teacher, counselor or trusted adult and take what they need from the Open Door Program.

The goal of the Open Door Program is student success. If a young person comes to school hungry, doesn't know if they'll have a jacket in time for winter, or simply needs a toothbrush, it distracts from their ability to learn. Open Door is here to help students succeed in their educational goals.
